Handbook
📘 Participant Handbook
Welcome to the AI Tinkerers OpenCloud Hackathon! This handbook contains everything you need to build a successful project and navigate the next two weeks.
1. Getting Started: The OpenCloud Course
All participants are required to complete the specialized training to qualify for the Demo Day.
- Course Window: March 18 – March 25, 2026.
- Access: Links to the Platzi-hosted OpenCloud course will be sent to your registered email on March 18.
- Focus: Pay close attention to state management and tool-calling, as these are core evaluation metrics.
2. The Verticals (Focus Areas)
Your project must address a real-world use case in one of the following categories:
- HealthTech: Solutions for medical imaging, patient data, or diagnostic assistance.
- AgroTech: Precision farming, crop monitoring, or autonomous agricultural agents.
- FinTech: Predictive finance tools, automated risk assessment, or DeFi agents.
3. Technical Requirements & Best Practices
To build a high-scoring project, keep the following in mind:
- Framework: You must utilize the OpenCloud framework for your agentic workflows.
- Efficiency: Design your loops to minimize unnecessary token consumption.
- Safety First: Implement guardrails to handle hallucinations and ensure data security.
- The “Build”: Focus on a functional prototype. While a polished UI is not required, the judges must be able to see the agent perform its task live.
4. Submission Instructions
- Deadline: All projects must be submitted by Wednesday, March 25, at 12:00 PM.
- Format: Submissions must include a link to your repository and a brief (max 2-minute) loom or video walkthrough of the functionality.
5. Demo Day Expectations
If selected as a finalist, you will present in person on Saturday, March 28.
- Presentation: 3-minute pitch + live demo.
- Q&A: 2-minute technical deep dive with the judges.
